Chaos to Calm to Chaos

I met my husband at church three years ago and his life was messy. His children were “tweens” while mine were grown and married. His house was big and required upkeep; my condo was perfect for two. I wanted to travel and be “free” but he needed ten more years. How did God think this was going to work? Recently my husband concluded that if we had met twenty years earlier our marriage would have failed because I wasn’t ready to trust and he wasn’t able to listen. Had God known our weaknesses all along? We agree that life is chaotic but our gifts compliment each other and we are growing together in ways we never thought possible. As we struggle to calm the chaos in our life—one conversation at a time—we submit to God’s impeccable timing and are grateful that the garden of life once again blooms.
