Did you leave the workforce for a period of time but now want to return to a job you once loved? How many people do you know who had to quit work to be a full-time caregiver, to pursue a personal interest, or maybe to re-evaluate a personal or professional goal? As a coach, I often work with clients who are struggling to “reinvent” themselves so they can return to work. For some that looks like continuing education; for others it is training to bring their particular skill set up to par. If you are one of those people trying to “get back on the saddle,” there is hope! More and more companies are now offering paid re-entry career programs to individuals wanting to return to work. Through coaching, training, and mentoring, many employers are welcoming talent back into the workforce by helping them retool for success. Try researching a company you would like to work for and ask if they have a re-entry program or internship specific to your field of interest, or train for something totally new. Either way, you have options!
